Greetings!

	Gleanings From *Trolley Fare*
		June--1965

"PAT seems to be concentrating on mechanical repairs to cars and
letting painting go until the PRCo case is settled. Quite a few cars
have shown up with new wheels within the last couple weeks: 1510, 1511,
1503, 1563, 1543, 1670, 1671, 1610, 1458, 1736, 1733, 1532, 1661 and a
few more. The shops waiting list must be pretty long even yet; 1775 has
been sitting at Craft since January with the pole hooked down. A
cursory inspection of Keating prior to the last fantrip revealed 11 cars
awaiting shopping, some with rather heavy accumulations of rust on the
wheel treads."
"Double tracking of the connection at McFarland Road in Dormont between
route 42 and former route 38 is in progress. This will ease a serious
bottleneck in the combined 42/38 route. This is now one of Pittsburgh's
heaviest car lines and the Port Authority has a well produced map and
timetable on this 'rail rapid to the South Hills.'"
