On another list there was a discussion of the term *frog* and how it
came into use on the railway. Things naturally turned to the lighter
side; hope these help to fill the need::
At least they used bolts and not ribbits to fasten the frog to the rail.

Ah, that's easy ... because in the early days, electrical contact was
