Subject: PRC and JTC tokens - scans
[]
Here are descriptions of 4 PRC tokens and 5 JTC tokens in my collection.
PRCtokensfront - The two tokens on the left are white metal; the two on
the right are the commonly seen brass (1922 triangle) and white (PCC)
tokens.
PRCtokensback -these are the reverse sides.
JTCtokensfront - The small J tokens appear to be white metal and copper;
the large tokens are copper, brass and white metal.
JTCtokensback - these are the reverse sides.
The JTC tokens appear to be similar, but they are made of different
metals. I believe that the small "J" tokens are regular fare, and the
larger tokens are school fare. My scan files are named "front" and
"back", but the JTC tokens seem to have mixed the traditional front and
back wording.
I also have tokens from bus companies (e.g., Brentwood Motor Coach,
DeBolt Transit, Oriole Motor Coach) that were acquired by PAT in 1964,
plus some more distant companies such as Penn-Ohio System (New Castle)
and Panzera Bus Service (Uniontown).
I have a 1929 token from McKeesport Transit Co., and a couple from Penn
Transit - was this one also in McKeesport?
