When I was growing up on Spring Hill, we'd visit my Uncle in Brentwood a
couple of times a year.  That meant an excursion to downtown, through the
Liberty Tunnels and out Saw Mill Run Blvd.  On those 1950's drives, my
family always commented on the large amount of junk along Saw Mill Run
Blvd.  Earlier this year, I drove along Saw Mill Run Blvd., and the junk
is still there...probably more than ever. Today, I'll bet you can find
remnants of these early railways under the debris...:-)
