Prototype Color Schemes

Greetings!

	Excellent series of questions, Bob, but also questions which will
probably prove elusive as far as answers!

	Like Fred #3, I believe that the color choice was PRCo.  While cars for
other systems might have been painted similar, they were not the same
colors.  Even the way the paint was applied varied from one system to
another although the lines of the car seemed to have a strong influence
from the beginning.  Compare PRCo with Brooklyn and the Boston St. Louis
car.
	Interesting, in looking thru *PCC From Coast to Coast* I have noticed
that quite a few have the canvas roof section painted a darker color
than the rest of the roof!

	*Guesstimation* again - orange seemed to be favored for safety reasons
(whether or not verifiable) and it seemed to be many properties within
the industry that painted work equipment in orange.  On the other hand,
there are many properties which did not use orange for work equipment.
