Jim:

Thanks for the comments on the web page.

The outbound track to 44-48 Arlington from the back track was apparently
removed in the early '50s. Refer to
http://www.voicenet.com/~dietrich/SHJ/outback.htm taken in the '60s. I have
other photos from the '50s showing this configuration.

The traffic lights was only one, the other thing is a control box of some
sort. Here you can see it in operation
http://www.voicenet.com/~dietrich/SHJ/sidebw.htm in the '20s, and in the
summer of '72 http://www.voicenet.com/~dietrich/SHJ/cd2.htm the light as
gone but the box remains. So how long did this light remain hanging on the
pole and not used? Was it used then the junction was controlled manually
from the switch tower and not after the interlocking controls were
incorporated in 1939? Or were they used after that? And when was it
removed from the pole? The range of these two pictures is from 1947 to
1972.

As you said car 1781 was not 1630, my mistake. I went back to the photo I
have and on the back, along with your name, it states that 1781 was
ex-interurban 1646. I'll make the correction.

The dark roof on 1062 -- http://www.voicenet.com/~shawncd/SHJ/cr1000.htm --
could the car be over six months old at this point, or six days? Then it
could be "weathered". Remember Fred's mom's curtains.

Greetings!

Very interesting, Bob; I can see this was alot of work and it is
very
much appreciated.

Look closely at the background in this photo and you can see that
the
back track behind the admin building *does* connect to both tracks
leading to Warrington - http://www.voicenet.com/~shawncd/SHJ/cr3700.htm
- look right in front of the low floor car there.

Bob: Another detail: in this photo, notice the two traffic signals
just to the left (from our vantage point) of the car
http://www.voicenet.com/~dietrich/SHJ/bv13.jpg. I had noticed these, or
one of these, before - am *guessing* it was to control traffic from the
interurban or from 38-39-40-42 lines inbound and to allow OB cars to the
interurbans to pass!

	http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/jpg/pitt568.jpg possibly
inbound
on Centre at Liberty???

	Car 1630 http://www.voicenet.com/~shawncd/SHJ/JH1781.JPG was never
accepted by ({[pat]}), was never run by ({[pat]}), and was never
converted to a double ender. Additionally, 1630 was not an interurban.

	This photo http://www.voicenet.com/~shawncd/SHJ/cr1000.htm hints at
a
dark color, possibly black, for the canvas portion of the roof only.
