Greetings!
PRCo Equipment
"JUST TEN SHORT YEARS AGO, Pittsburgh Railways had a total of
1187 passenger cars on the system, from the ten 3700-class built by
Brill in 1916 to 1799 built in 1949, and including 81 of the 5000-class
built by Pressed Steel in 1924. Ten years before that, with only 200
PCCs on the property, there were still 1100 cars. But during those ten
years between 1940 and 1950, 460 PCCs were bought to replace the 4000,
4100, and 4400 class cars. Several series were bought complete; i.e.
100 cars: 3100, 3210, 3400, 4200, 4300, 4700, 5000,
1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1700, A200 trailers (only 65
of the 1500-series.) This does not include single truck cars."
