No, they were telling the truth. I ASSumed that they were speaking of CS CH.
Until now I really never knew the closing date of CS CH. They were apparently
speaking of the combined service out of SHJ.

Ray Kopeck was the one who told me the most about the interurban service. I
know that he started with PRC in 1945. He told me the story (and this was
confirmed by his wife) of how he got the job. They were walking down Seventh
Street a few days after he got discharged from the US Army and wondering what
career options he had to go for. There was now not much call for combat
trained soldiers. He and his wife were passing 121 Seventh and he looked at a
sign by the front door indicating operator positions open for PRC. He said a
PRC employee (unknown who) was leaving the building and stopped beside him
and said he should take advantage of the offer. He did and there he stayed
for nearly forty years.

<<Was this in 1953 - when Charleroi and Washington were cut back to
Library and Drake?  These were still considered interurbans and the
equipment was most definitely segregated even into early  ({[pat]})
days.>>

No, this was when at least Ray started in 1945. I don't know if the two lists
lasted past the 1953 cutbacks or not.
