		just change ends and go the other way -
			X-Over not needed! -
				And impossible to build

	Not at all.  There were 2-crossovers here - the one you mentioned for
access by the interurbans into the 38A and the one that was used for
barn access before the wye was replaced by the loop.  That makes
2--X--Overs as already mentioned.
	And concerning more research  --  I put a disclaimer at the  BEGINNING 
of my original message  --  and I quote it here:::::::
