So, I guess that the 36 clams I paid for a 1926 Lewis Guide and the 12-1/2
claims paid for an unbelievable huge 1926 folding map of Pittsburgh (FOLDED
to 3-1/2" X 6" for a panel and there are 80 of them) with streetcar lines in
1926 would be a good buy?

>From these sources come route description data for these routes:

7 CHARLES ST: every 12 minutes from Liberty and Eleventh (JFB Note [not on
the description]: having looped first via eb Liberty, probably 12th St, Penn
and 11th St), along Liberty to Fifth Av, to Penn Av, to Sixth St, to
federal, to North Av, to Arch, to Jacksonia, to Brighton Rd, to Columbus Av,
to Charles North, to Strauss, to Irwin Av, to Charles North.

7 CHARLES STREET TRANSFER, every 12 minutes from Irwin and Charles North top
Perrysville Av.

8 PERRYSVILLE AV, every nine minutes, from Loop I (on the map via 6th St
inbound, Duquesne, Stanwix, Penn and 6th St outbound) continuing via 6th St
bridge to federal, to Perrysville, to East St.

9 PERRYSVILLE SHORT LINE, every six minutes, from Loop I (as above) and same
as Route 8 to Charles North only.

I guess the book and maps are good for something. There is no additional
information on these routes than that provided here, so please don't ask if
I know more than this - that's all there is. Of course all the other routes
are described as well. WHEN I HAVE TIME, if there is demand, I will type
the whole thing out (or maybe try to scan the pages into my Word conversion
program) as the stuff is fascinating.

Dad had a 1930 street map of Pittsburgh (which he later destroyed and I
saw priced second hand at several hundred clams) that showed
Perrysville-Charles service. fws
