Greg,

No, you wouldn't want to go all that way and wind up like Chevy Chase at an
empty Wally World in the movie, "Summer Vacation."

I first joined Arden (now the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum) in 1966, and have
been a member continuously since 1972. However, I now live in Chicago (500
miles from Pittsburgh), so I suggest that you get better information on museum
operations from members who live closer to it - several are on this list.

In the past, I have visited the museum over Thanksgiving (the third Thursday in
November) weekend and on weekends in December when its Christmas trolleys are
operating. I'd check first on operating dates. Their website is
<http://www.pa-trolley.org>. Be aware that the museum is about 30 miles
southwest of Pittsburgh, and you'll need an automobile to get there since
there's no public transportation nearby (at least the last time I was there).

PS - Several months ago, there was some discussion on this list - and in the PTM
newsletter - asking the whereabouts of some museum members from the 1950's and
1960's. One of them was Dennis Foley who helped build the original carbarn, and
whom I knew when I was in college. A few weeks ago I found Dennis on the
Internet - he's been living in San Francisco for the past 20 years.
