I think you're correct, Fred:

1. Charlie and I photographed the last day of trolleys on 5-Spring Hill on
10/5/57. We were standing together when I took a photo
<http://gelwood.railfan.net/other/lightrail/prc-1677ar.jpg> of the left side of
1677 on Rhine St. approaching the loop. But, you know, it's possible that
Charlie didn't actually click his shutter too, because the next photos we took
were of the right side of the car in the loop.

2. The previous weekend I saw Charlie photographing route 5 trolleys at the
passing siding on Itin St. at Goehring St. He was on the west side of Itin
Street. I wonder if he photographed only the inbound car which would have been a
view of the right side of the car???

Some comments:

- People on Spring Hill referred to the location of the passing siding as, "The
Switch."

- Itin St. seems to be the trunk for a tree of German street names: Goehring St.,
Kaiser Way, Rhine St. and Stein St.

- Does anyone know Clarence Gerst from Spring Hill? He's been sending me photos
he took of route 5 cars in the mid-50's, but I didn't know him then.
