PRCo had been losing money on the West End car lines for a long time.  They
were pleased to bid them adieu.

If the Carson St. connection had been left in , do you think that PRCo
would have left the lines there in operatin by detouring by way of
Smitfield Bridge ?? Or did they welcome the opportunity to dump them ?
