Good Morning!!

"This railway was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the PITTSBURGH RAILWAYS,
chartered on May-05,-1904,....... The one mile line was single tracked without
passing sidings and began at the PRR depot on State St. running uphill on St.
Clair Ave to the residential district."

"A one-car barn was located at the line's sole turnout.....near the top of the
hill. Since the line was so short many residents preferred to wlak downhill and
ride uphill. For this reason, during 'mill chantges' two cars would be lined
up at the mill gate for the uphill trip. At other times only one car was needed
and it was left in the street overnight."

"Many attempts were made to connect Clairton and McKeesport by
streetcar......." Service ended Sept-01,-1926.

And we know there were thought to connect McKeesport to the Charleroi line.
Clairton is not far from the Washington County line.
