Ken

I think you should pull the Milwaukee plug right now and start building one
that will be appreciated. By all means, build the 'burgh site. You have an
unrivaled collection of photos from R. Hill and they should be shared.

You will probably be pleasantly surprised how many folks, not on this list,
respond to the site with both comments and additions to the site. I
sometimes feel bad that I can't include every photo that I get.

Please let me be the first to include a link to your new site when it is
ready ( I suppose I better put in some links to other Pittsburgh Traction
sites while I'm at it).

Bob

After two years of dealing with tempermental Milwaukee fans (mostly
"temper" 'cuz they're "mental"), I am considering pulling the plug on my
Milwaukee traction site.

I am much younger than most of the hardcore Milwaukee fans and I haven't
been around the ones I knew twenty years ago. Trying to break into this
clique has been an exercise in self-punishment. Most of the ones with web
sites ignore my efforts and few have linked with my site. Some have been
somewhat generous, but these arrangements always seem to be conditional
relationships, tenuous at best.

Now here is where it ties in with Western Pennsylvania traction. I offered
my 10MB site to my wife to use as a cyberspace family scrap book. She
declined, since she is too busy with other pursuits.

I've been looking through the Roberta Hill collection and discovered that I
have the makings of a decent Pittsburgh site. I figured a site dedicated to
the East End or North Side car lines would be fun.

All of you have been very helpful with identifying Pittsburgh locations,
sharing your personal stories, etc. And these lines outlasted Milwaukee's
by ten years, offering fresher, more recent memories. Besides, none of you
hoard what you have. You are all very generous and helpful. In fact,
members of this list have offered or provided more Milwaukee stuff to me
than the Milwaukee fans have!

I plan to maintain the Milwaukee site through October and perhaps November,
since I already planned and scanned the images for that month. I may have a
change of heart by then and keep plugging away at it. But in case I don't,
I'd love to hear from you and see what you suggest for my proposed
Pittsburgh site.

Ken J.
