Greetings to all
I have enjoyed reading your various comments about what to
paint the Muni ex-Pgh PCC cars.
Having been there, let me give my preferences (Not in order of preference)
- A PRC Red & White front car. Kenosha has one and it
has been well received.
- The Red, White and Blue 1776.
- Any of the three "Bread loaf" paint jobs (Orange, red or yellow with white).
This paint job really returned the PCC to the limelight.
- The multi-color Mod Trolley. Always well received.
- The original red applied to the 4000's.
- The Jolly Trolley: A put down to John Dameron's Trolley Jolly.
I would not prefer the final 4000 colors copied from the LRT
or the PAT Grey. This was merely an adaption of the bus paint
implemented by PAT. Looked OK on New Look buses, was
poor on Old Look buses or the PCC's.
Colors are all in the mind of the viewer. The last two mentioned
above do not represent Pittsburgh well in my opinion.
Best wishes to all.
