Greetings
I lived in Dormont from 1950 to 57.
Had many enjoyable commutes on both 42 and 38.
But also used the Bigi bus on West Liberty Ave as well.
The bus was clean and the operator polite. Not always a PRC
characteristic. Sorry to say this but most private operators
did a better job than PRC at the end.
I am reminded of a real life expereience in Sharpsburg. Both
Community Transit and PRC operated thru Sharpsburg. We had
a 15cents local fare to serve this long community. We had fare
receipts elsewhwre so there was no problem to have a zone fare.
The Rys Bus fare was 35 cents thru to downtown.
Twp elderly Polish women boarded the bus and wanted to be
reassured this was the 15 cents bus. One lady said "My Dear, the
15 cents bus is the clean painted one." She under stood how far
PRC had changed. Sorry to say this.
