The Johnstown part of the video is the worst of this tape as the people
at Sunday River mislabled some lines due to the fact the cars head sign
read Morrellville and it actually was on the Roxbury Line [center road
grass grown tracks was a dead giveaway here.] Franklin line was also
tabed as Morrellville . End of this line had dbl wire and seen as an
older car went up the single track and passed a PCC at the top of the
hill where it doubled out. A couple fan trips are evident with the use
of #350 and dbl truck Birney #311 that is at Railways to Nowhere in
Orbisonia Pa. You coud charter a car for several hours at $50 I believe
. #350 was saved but not sure where. PTM ?
Ferndale was also dubbed Morrellville at least once with our
mis-labled PCC as the villan again. The river that this line crossed was
called the Conemough River once and properly the Stony Creek with its 2
span truss bridge which at the end the line crossed the B&O RR. [ a
note here --CSX RR is abandoning its Civil War commemorative blue and
grey scheme and reverting to B&O BLUE with a yellow nose!!! Why ??
grey gets too dirty and needs washing too often !! ] I think they are
the prettiest engines out there and show up in pool power assignments on
UP run thru trains on the west coast. Get your pix while you can !
