Inbound, or outbound? One line pairing used was Roxbury-Morrellville.
(They had typed mimeographed schedules, which I should find and scan)

Typically, but in one case I can't remember not so, they had 2 pairs lines
and ran through downtown; However, there was an effective loop which could
be used to go back out in any direction.

yes.

Actually, the portion from downtown Johnstown to Ferndale only crossed
Stony Creek and not the Conemaugh. Technically, only the Coopersdale line
crossed the Conemaugh, and the Franklin line the Little Conemaugh.
