The 11-E Fineview bus uses essentially the same route as the 
streetcar. Only 17 trips daily M-F, alas, 10 on Saturday and 9 on 
Sunday. But I've ridden it a couple of times in the past - steeply up 
Henderson Street, then winding around the bluff and through back 
alleys and hillside lanes to a terminus beneath the overpass at 
Charles and Perrysville. Can't say it's possible to shut out the noise 
and scent and imagine oneself on a streetcar, but it's better than 
nothing.

Don
