Please clarify, step by step your actions with the address book.

Also, what is one looking for in the files for the virus. 

Finally, there is a rumor (call it a hoax if you wish) going around that
sulfnbk.exe is a virus and to delete it from your computer ... I was
suspicious, so when I found sulfnbk.exe in my c:\windows\command and
C:\win98\command files, I moved it to a floppy disk in the A drive and
then ran it aginst my Norton AntiVirus software (which I had just
downloaded of the internet).  Norton did not lightup when it saw it.  So
I checked with Derrick.  The hoax that is going around is that
sulfnbk.exe is a virus when it is, in actuality, an integral part of the
windows and windows98 software.
