Don't know where the *main* parking lot is//was but your description
sounds good. TrolleyCar tracks were on prw on the north side of Duquesne
and between that blvd and the Monongahela. The photo on pg.71 of *PCC
The Car That Fought Back* shows a 17 crossing Duquesne into the loop
area. The park entrance is immediately to the left (right from our
perspective) of the trolleycars.

Yes to both parts. Beginning 1900.05.26 (102--years, 1--week ago!),
".......Monongahela Street Railway (MSR) cars began 'thru service' into
McKeesport under a trackage lease (which was subsequently transferred to
PRCo.)" (Pg.110, McKeesport Trolleys, Ron Beal.) Before that,
McKeesport, Wilmerding, & Duquesne Ry. Co. (MWD) ran cars here every
10-minutes.
This book goes on to say that the Pgh., McKeesport & Connellsville was
chartered 1900.12.22 and brought together all the significant local lines
in McKeesport but had vision of connecting McKeesport to Coke region
(pg.118) and then arranged for thru car service to Pgh on MWD, MSR, and
finally Consolidated traction for a grand total of 15-cents (pg.120!)
I cannot find any date for the beginning of the 68-line into McKeesport
but a note on pg.74 says the 68A Homestead McKeesport began 1910.06.26 but
was discontinued on 1913.04.20 except for Sunday only service.
But the 68-line from Kennywood to McKeesport was leased from West Penn
until a very late date - can't find that offhand, either.

John and//or Don or Derrick might be able to fill in more specific
details.
