The above date you list is the abandonment of the 6/13 -- the 6- &
13-lines were combined in Sept--1965 when the 15-line was abandoned. The
6/13 was actually cut back to the 6/14 in Dec--1965 because of the bridge
on the outer end of the 13-line. The 6/14 continued until 1966.05.01.

In the book "Touring Pittsburgh By Trolley" by Harold A. Smith page 31 bottom
states: "No. 1689, prepared for service on the 6-Brighton Road line,
completes its deadhead trip from Keating car house as it turns from
California Ave. onto Wynhurst. It is June of 1965, and in December of that
year the 6.......and 13... lines will be through-routed with the 13 line
discontinued between this intersection at Wynhurst Ave. and Brighton Place in
the near North Side."
Author should have stated September instead of December. Or could
have used the same description but substituted 14-Avalon for 13-Emsworth.
Correct? This goes to show that it pays to ask questions
even though something is written and published in black and white. I trust
the people on this list will always steer me right. Thanks Jim! :>)
