I just recently purchased a bunch of 8x10 photos from RRE and believe it or
not, one of the LRV photos caught my eye. LRV 4140 is clearly leaving
Simmons Loop on the Library line. The weird thing is that it's signed " 42
Drake via Beechview". The photo was taken 1/4/89. Were these destination
signs already made when the light rail lines were established, including
destinations like the above mentioned? If so, why would the motorman have
this LRV car signed Drake, when everyone knows an LRV car could not run the
outer end of Drake? Maybe he just made a mistake and didn't turn the rollsign
far enough. Then again, maybe a charter? Very weird seeing this dest. sign on
an LRV.
