Yes - exactly!
I look at the area behind Second Avenue now, where railroads once
proliferated and think it would have made a great light-rail prw.
Or, another routing could have been the area of rail on the other side of
the river, just below Carson Street. That is, instead of going across
the Glenwood Bridge (or a traction trestle) turn left down along Carson ,
and work back through to the South Side, remaining close to the rive, then
a connection to the Panhandle. Of course, it could be argued that
there would be some non-revenue dead-head miles with this routing.
