Derick mistakenly had me on vacation since June ... have received no e-mail
messages from the group.  He just now sent me 86 messages.  If by extended pole
base you actually mean the cowl on the roof in from of and surrounding the pole
base ... the longer cowl was used on the 1200s, 1400s, 1500s and 1600s.  The
short cowl, without ventilating ducting, was used on the 1000s and 1100s.
