Tarentum proper was street running. I can see *some* validity to
voltage problems; have heard of similar for other properties. With
700-volts the average, each motor would take 350-volts in full parallel,
16%-higher than rating. Hysteric cars here in SF often get to full
parallel under much more dense operating conditions. Maybe you will
yet find the news article on snow and water. (Also, don't know of a
traction motor that *likes* water!:~>))

I used *forward* as a response because you also included info from
Fred and wanted to keep it all in one place for saving. My copy
returned thru PRCo mail list did Not Look Like That -- just the
standard simple headers!
