NOTE: The following should be considered as heresay only.

65 was one of the last - if not the last - independents to become part of
Pittsburgh Railways. Originally it may not have connected with 56 at
Lincoln Place. I think it just terminated in middle of the street.

In Homestead, there was a crossover on Amity just short of 8th. I've long
been under the impression - repeat - impression that 65 in pre-PRC days
terminated at this crossover. Rt. 65 came down West St., but jogged over to
Amity before reaching 8th.

After acquisition by PRC, received 65 number and for a time thru-routed with
59 as Homeville-Homestead-Lincoln Place. It was a double-end route. Was
this when the passing siding was put in at Lincoln Place and a connection
made to 56 line??

As for Muldowney Loop and Munhall Loop, were these added for PCC operation??

Question: So where was the carbarn when 65 Homestead-Lincoln Place was an
independent??

John

p.s. just for record, 65 was originally Bell & Jones, a Forbes Ave. route.
So I assume this discussion concerns 65(II)? (:>)
