Mr. Van Wilkins wrote a piece for the *New--Electric--Railway
Journal* (the writer of the article for the above URL refers to this)
which was published in the Summer of 1995; to his knowledge, this
article is not online.
Kenny-J gave a nice summary which indicated there were Many
Contributing Factors to the demise of the trolleycar. NCL could be
considered One of Those Factors, but definitely not the whole! The
downhill slide of the trolleycar was already in progress when NCL came
along. NCL is a convenient scapegoat for Many Railfans.
