Benches in baggage cars?  I remember Jim Shuman telling me that if you could
get to any Pennsy station on late Sunday afternoon during the war, they would
have you back home to go to work Monday morning.  But it wasn't necessarily
comfortable.  Jim talked of conductors and brakemen walking through the
coaches on the arm rests to make their lifts.  The aisle was filled with
people.
