[PRCo] Another trip

Even I am having trouble believing this...   There seems to be enough light
rail construction since my 2002 trip to warrant a western extravaganze in
2004.  And to my surprise, the chap who rode with me from Portland to San Jose
last year is showing an interest in the entire trip next year.   Chicago -
Minneapolis - Tacoma - San Francisco - Los Angeles - Dallas - Houston - New
Orleans.
How does one go from Los Angeles or San Diego to Dallas via Las Vegas (to take
the night pictures I never got last year)?
