HRB Thank you for sharing your COT experiences.
This was a procedure well developed in Pgh but not used
in too many other cities.
At Community Transit I developed a snow schedule to achieve
the same goals. Normal round trip New Kensington to Pgh was
two and a half hours on 30 minute headway. First snow schedule
was 3 hours round trip, second three and a half hours round trip.
We started a replacement bus at 9AM and 930AM southbound.
It worked and drivers really appreciated having the pressure taken
off them. We had registering fare boxes and did not trade bses.
