Glennwood was mostly open.  McKeesport and Rankin were totally closed, but they
were also abandoned early.  Bunkerhill, Keating, Millvale, Homewood, Manchester,
Plummer Street, Ingram and Carrick had small storage barns and repair shops
(mostly about 4 tracks) but most of the storage space was open to the elements.
It would imagine that from 1937 until 1965, about 75% of the cars were stored
outside.    Prior to the construction of the newer car yards / car houses, most
storage was inside: Point Bridge, Carnegie, 16th St., Charles St., Talbot,
Wilmerding, 30th and Carson ... these were entirely or almost entirely inside
storage.   The shift to considerable outside storage seems to have come in the
1920s when all the new barns were built.
