Good Morning!

	Re-Arranged according to the Compass And
		Includes Interurbans.

	Numberingof locations might expand or contract
depending on what signal sections could/should be grouped
together. Some of that information is below:::::::

S-O-U-T-H:::::::

01.)--Interurbans
	A.)--Charleroi, 37-miles one way
		US&S as well as nachod, last usually
			trolley pole operated.
		Much prw double track, single track, and
			single track and sidings in streets.
	B.)--Washington, 29-miles one way
		US&S as well as nachod, last usually
			trolley pole operated.
		Single track south of Washington Jct. with
			some street running and sidings in
			Canonsburg, Houston, and into
			downtown Washington.
	C.)--Castle Shannon
		Overbrook; shared trackage with Charleroi
			and Washington interurbans from
			downtown Pgh. to loop at Castle
			Shannon.    Operated as separate
			line until about 1951 - Charleroi
			and Washington ran Express from
			South Hills Jct. to Castle Shannon.
		All prw, mostly double track with
			single-track and 2-sidings (Bon-Air
			and Smith) just south of South
			Hills Jct.
		US&S absolute, permissive, sub-divided blocks
			in 3-single track sections here.
	D.)--Donora Local Line, Riverview to Donora,
		Charleroi Interurban
	E.)--Washington Local Lines:::::::
		01.)--W1-Jefferson-Maiden
		02.)--W4-East & West Washington
		03.)--W5-North Washington

02.)--SOUTH---HILLS---Jct  --  Tunnel Interlocking and
        2-Derails. Interlocking and turnout Display with
        double overhead contactors to set turnout outbound.
                Amazingly complex intersection with 3-main
        throats leading to//from Tunnel:::::::
                A.)--Interurbans Charleroi, Washington
                        Castle Shannon
                B.)--38,39,40,42
                C.)--44,48
                Considering the Admin loop and yard leads
        for all these lines and that the ONLY signalling
        in this area is mentioned above AND considering
        the number of cars that have to make the loop
        to/from the yard and their respective lines WithOUT
        additional signalling is quite extraordinary.
        If ({[pat]}) signalling is anything like SF Muni
        subway, PRCo was able to move infinitely more
        People/Hour thru the Jct. than ({[pat]}) with
        only 3-lines - Dormont to South Hills Village,
        Drake on Overbrook, and 49-line hourly(?)
03.)--Interlock and Derail from Tunnel Yard outbound at
        Palm Garden to main line of 38,39,42.
04.)--Possible interlocks southbound into Palm Garden Loop
        And northbound from Palm Garden Loop to 38,39,42
        mainline.
05.)--Possible interlock northbound from east-side yard-
        throat, Tunnel yard.

06.)--Dwarf Signals thru South Hills Yard for 38,39,42.
07.)--Palm Garden Trestle had dual light dwarfs in latter
        days but not when first built.
08.)--Elaborate interlocking at Dawn Jct with double contact
        for turnout.
09.)--42-Dormont had standard US&S 3-light signals on
        prw from Dawn Jct. to Beechview. NO signals
	from Beechview to Dormont wye, even on prw and
	blind curve between Hillsdale and Dell.
10.)--38-Mt.Lebanon Dinky track to Castle Shannon
11.)--39--Brookline on single track prw to loop.
12.)--40-Mt.Washington on 3-different sections.
13.)--49-Beltzhoover on Arlington and Climax/Gearing Streets.

E-A-S-T:::::::

14.)--55-line at flood-gate single track in E.Pgh.
15.)--56-line prw thru Buttermilk Hollow; don't know about
        side of road prw along Mifflin.
16.)--58-Greenfield along Greenfield.
17.)--65-Lincoln Place single track and sidings as well as
        Junction with 56-line.
18.)--67-line along non-clearance turns at Rankin(?)
        Hastings(?)
19.)--68-line in Duquesne on single-track.
20.)--Trafford at one time before single franchise car.
21.)--94-line in Aspinwall.
	(Shared trackage with WP isolated Tarentum line in
	    Aspinwall. At one time, WP ran into Pgh.
	    over 94-line!)
22.)--98-(99)--Glassport (Evans)

N-O-R-T-H:::::::

23.)--Elaborate intersection at Itin/Spring Garden

28.)--6-Brighton Cambrone to Wynhurst
29.)--8-10--lines from Perrysville to Keating(?)
30.)--Signal to show activation of RR-style flashing
        grade crossing lights for crossing Perrysville
        at Keating.
31.)--10-West View at 3-X-Overs; what about other prw here(?)

W-E-S-T:::::::

32.)--23-Sewickley had signals on single track on
        Neville Island as well as west of Coraopolis.

Waiting for a bus is about as thrilling as fishing,
