I believe the Butterfly Windows referred to the out-ward folding windows in the windshield that allowed air to enter the front end when opened,at the top I believe. Early models of the PCC had these but soon were eliminated due to maintenence problems due to leaking water around the rubber gaskets that they set back against when closed. All the original Brooklyn cars had these as well as the first PRCo cars.   cheers   rogertrolley    PS one of the Brooklyn cars is preserved at Shoreline Trolley Museum  in Branford Conn.
