[PRCo] GE 1700 on 39-Brookline in 1966?

I found a Roberta Hill photo dated June 13, 1966. It was taken around 9:00am at
Dawn Junction and shows two inbound 1700s approaching the junction, one a 42/38
car, the other, a Route 39 car. Roberta lists the latter as being 1777 (I).

I seem to recall reading somewhere that some North Side cars wound up at South
Hills for a while after the closing of Routes 10-15. Would that explain the
presence of a GE 1700 on Route 39, or did Roberta mus-label the photo?
