HERE IS A PIECE FROM THE LANCASTER NEW ERA FOR MAY 14 1903:
"Lancaster and other Pennsylvania communities were affected by a new
state law that set the speed limit for automobiles at 8 mph in cities
and boroughs. In rural areas, the speed limit was 20 mph, reduced to 12
mph on curves or near pedestrians, teams and crossroads."
AND YOU THOUGHT IT IS BAD THAT SMOKY WANTS YOU TO KEEP IT UNDER 75!
