I was not referring to the coasting backwards in an automobile to the same
that even happens at Richfol platform at PTM. Just the comparison that some
people are comfortable with machinery and some are not.
Ray Windle & the instructors have a system in place to help student
operators and shows a remarkable success rate considering the age and
backgrounds of some of our operators. We are based upon a positive support
system that looks for success. Some folks just take a little longer than
others. As an educator, I came to that realization a long time ago. I am a
firm believer in giving people more than one chance. People make mistakes,
often the most successful people learn from mistakes and move forward.
I too have observed SEPTA supervisors with radar guns along the Media
Line beyond Springfield in the woods outbound. So it still exists, just as
we supervisors at PTM observe and instruct.
Education is an ongoing process and I get the feeling that most of the
members of this list are learners for life and I am extemely proud to be a
part of it. Thank you Derrick for your technical support and to all of you
who know so much more.
