Every picture I have of cars on route 18 and 19, which operated out of
Manchester, were General Electric cars. However, I published in the second PCC
book that it was a mixed Westinghouse and GE barn. I have no pictures of cars
on route 20. Remember that Herron Hill had Westinghouse 1400s and some of
them may have gone to Manchester when Herron Hill became a base for line
trucks.
I have pictures of new fewer than five 1680s and 1690s working Millvale routes
prior to the closure of the Millvale barn and the abandonment of the Millvale
and Etna lines. Cars in that same block of numbers (and one GE 1670) appear in
pictures that Ed Miller took on Spring Hill, Spring Garden and Troy Hill in
1957. I think that is pretty conclusive proof, without an official roster,
that the General Electric 16s from Millvale later went to Keating. If there
were any GE cars at Manchester when it closed, I'm sure they also wound up at
Keating.
