The railroad historian White (William?) would say this restoration is "facadism", by which he meant replacing so much of the original parts that nothing much original is left.  To him I gather than is a bad thing to be avoided, but really, what else could be done with 4398?  If it was some ancient antiquity that shed some new light on an ancient civilization I would understand leaving it alone.  But its a trolley car.  We know how they were built and have many nearly original examples around.  Its meant to run, and now it will again.  keep up the good work, I look forward to 832 as well.
