People swim the English Channel and That Is Not Warm.

Also people who swim the Bay Here in normal swim suits  --  don't know 
their exact route  --  these are people who train in this water all the 
time.       So it is possible to be acclimated to the water.



Nudity around here is not uncommon.

Working the run I had during the quake and probably just before the 
same, I was in the Marina around 6-PM heading downtown.       This is in 
the middle of the heavy business district within the Marina on Chestnut 
near Scott and Pierce.       About 3-4--people onboard, one woman 
standing near the front facing the right side.       She lets out this 
absolutely blood curdling scream  --  saw my whole life flash in front 
of me and then caught this glimpse of a stark nude man jumping through 
the plate glass window of a woman's lingerie shop.

Women casually use the rest room outdoors in this area after a night at 
the bars  --  even did so on my current bus route within the past month  
--  up in the territory where the Getty's live  (3-Jackson travels 
through prestigious Pacific Heights where is the Real Big Money!)

And again in the Marina area, after the bars closed, saw several drunk 
women strip another one nude piece by piece, giggling all the while as 
only women can, especially when tanked!

It Is Quite Common to have large contingents of Nude Racers  --  Male 
And Female  --  in the Annual Bay to Breakers Race which attracts 
runners from all over the world.       This starts at the Embarcadero, 
runs up Mission, then 9th, Hayes Street Hill past Alamo Square, then 
into Golden Gate Park right past my house to the Ocean Beach!       
Local news anchor Kate Kelly was covering the race one year and 
stuttered all over every word she spoke as some nude men ran into the 
view of the camera and they didn't cut the scene fast enough!

Understand nudity was not unusual on transit in the Hippie Days of the 
1960s, especially around the Haight.
