Well......... you know what Karl said!!!!!!!
Don't know if heavier spotting is a function of age -- you tend to
indicate that with the T2s having same in their last years.
Museums may not have brought the cars up to specs. I had similar
experience at OERM when I operated 3165 -- narrow gauge All-Electric
PCC -- and with just a loop around the yard I didn't get up much
speed. Initial spotting produced smooth and comfortable braking
but it faded quite quickly. Think I operated one of their Air-Cars
but honestly don't remember!!!!!!!
Missed riding these LATL cars in service by months. Joined Uncle
Sam's Canoe Club -- son of a gun -- 42-years ago this past
Monday!!!!! LATL PCCs *were* to be abandoned end of June 1963,
but they abandoned early -- end of March.
May have seen SF for first time in the summer of 1963 -- did so for
sure in August-1964 as I was on my way to Kodiak, Alaska -- took train
to Seattle and flew from there.
