I heard the IT PCCs were to supplement service on the Shaker which was
short of equipment. Cars had B3 trucks and tended to bounce alot
because the springs had not been maintained and operators did not like
running the cars. I was there when the IT PCCs were at Shaker and
was told this by an operator -- they weren't in service when I was
there -- dearly wanted to ride them. These two were reserved
mainly as rush hour trippers. Funny, isn't it -- B3 made for
open T-rail but these did not work out on Shaker but the B2s worked just
fine.
These two cars were *-Loaners-* to Shaker with the intention that the
cars be returned to the Museums when not needed any more.
