At one time the WP cars ran through to Pgh. with crews from both companies
on the car. That didn't last long and psgrs. had to transfer in
Aspinwall.
.
Valley Lines isolated from Coke system but still a valid WP-PRCo connection.
.
McKeesport has already been mentioned. WP ran local service here until
(?) and can't remember off-hand how the WP interurban connected McKeesport
and rest of Coke system and when it stopped I-F that connection existed
 -- material not handy.
.
.
.
Most famous connection is at Trafford. WP freight used this connection
and the 87- and/or the 64-lines to the freight terminal at the Point in
downtown Pgh. WP freight cars originally were huge (not unlike the
700s in length) and had to be shortened for clearance reasons on PRCo
trackage!!
.
.
.
Ed has mentioned that he has *-unconfirmed-* information that an PRCo PCC
made it partway up the WP line from Trafford -- would be nice if info was
available on this move.
.

http://206.103.49.193/pitts/htm/wvp197.htm - PRCo PCC 1630 turning inbound
on the 62-Trafford Loop - former WP trackage in the foreground.
.
http://206.103.49.193/pitts/htm/wvp195.htm - PRCo PCC 1630 essentially as
delivered from SLCCo. PRCo not only removed the fans and roof monitor
but gave the car a good mechanical and electrical overhaul and nice new
paint. It Was One Very Peppy Puppy post-conversion but the 1100 or
1000 style trolley cowl used on the car is reportedly why ({[pat]})
rejected 1630 - their and our loss.
.
A few shots along the Trafford line follow -- WP freight equipment would
use this trackage as well:
.
http://206.103.49.193/pitts/htm/bvp039.htm - predates conversion of 1646 to
Interurban - have date at home.

.
http://206.103.49.193/pitts/htm/bvp042.htm - Trafford was served with
double-end low-floor cars and they would continue straight down the street
behind 1656 to change ends. Look very carefully behind 1656 and tracks
curving gently to our right can be seen - this was the former WP connection
to the Trafford line and WP cars would change ends here before the turnout.
.
PRCo made this triangle formed by the 62 and WP lines into a loop by turning
down a side street so as 1630 above makes the turn it will then be on former
WP trackage!
.
Under the Pgh. section in PCC Coast to Coast is a photo of 1254 (sans
molding over front door!) sitting on WP track on 62-Loop in Trafford -
thought this was on the web but can't find it.
.
Roscoe, end of PRCo Charleroi Interurban, and Brownsville, *-an-* end of
the WP, were not very far apart were only about 7-miles apart -- too bad
we didn't have a connection here as well -- what a charter that could
be!!!!!!!
