My theory is that the first two prototypes were modified with single spring
bolster pots around 1945 and this way the prototypes for 1613 and 1614 were
obtained. One of these modified trucks was photographed at SLCCo in Sept.
1945.

One of the original trucks (that one with large upper frame and rubber
springs) was also temporarily rebuilt with a steel-rubber spring
combination. A photo of it was attached to one of my recent contributions.
