I would imagine that a standard weight was offered for sale but penny
pinchers came up with their own. There is also some mechanism
which bolts to the back end of the trolleycar to make sure the wheel //
shoe is correctly aligned when a pole is replaced -- NEVER saw such
used here in SF -- strictly EyeBalled!! When a pole was replaced
in Pgh (saw it a number of times at the 42 wye when a backing car would
break a pole) the car was sent to the barn under its own power so the
pole could be trued -- at least that is what the inspector on the
scene would say.
