This URL will lead you into one small phase of the Library of  
Congress web site.   There is some fantastic stuff there worthy of  
hours and hours of jumping around looking at pictures.   This simply  
leads to the Westinghouse films and you can see films of winding of  
trolley motor armatures, as one example, of hundreds of Westinghouse  
factory films that LC has.        But never forget that anyone  
wanting a copyright had to put an image on file in the Library so  
their collections are almost bottomless.   Topless too ... they  
expand daily.

The next URL just leads to an index of photo collections applicable  
to the 1900-1929 period.   But don't expect anyone's cataloging to be  
perfect.   You might find something in the wrong place.

Here is the Detroit Publishing URL within Library of Congress.   For  
those unfamiliar, Detroit made postcards and the glass plates are all  
in the custody of the library in Washington.   If you spend time,   
you will also find hundreds of Pittsburgh images within the Detroit  
collection.   One that intrigued me was a picture of the Pennsy's  
Brilliant Bridge from Highland Park with a lake where Washington  
Boulevard is today.  Happy hunting.   You too Bob Dietricht, now that  
you're retired.
