Yes, railroads in that area had interesting nicknames: the WAG, and the "Old
Woman" (New York, Ontario & Western) come to mind

The WA&G was originally a part of the B&O's Pittsburgh-Buffalo/Rochester
line, but severe floods in the 1940's separated the Potter County line from
the
B&O mainline. The connection to the mainline was never restored, but the
B&O continued to operate the detached line where several B&O locomotives
had been stranded. In 1955, the B&O sold the cut-off segment of line to a
company that became the Wellsville, Addison and Galeton RR. The WA&G
lasted just 24 years. Its F7 #2200 (originally a Southern Pacific
locomotive)
pulled the last train out of Galeton to Ansonia in 1979.

The 2200 then went to Pittsburgh to pull the PATrain, and after that, on to
the
Connecticut DOT. A well traveled locomotive on a wide variety of fallen
flag
lines.
