DON'T____KNOW why you are preaching to me -- I have ALWAYS known
that and I have ALWAYS said that. 99_44/100% of railfans use
catcher and retriever interchangeably, but I Don't. Quoting And
ReArranging the words from below but Not adding Nor Deleting any words
would read like this::::::: """All the PCCs are MU and equipped
with Retrievers like PRCo PCC Interurbans, not catchers.""" I have
an EARLL retriever here at home like those used on PRCo 1700s.
Shaker had the old fashioned kind, like OB but don't know the specific
model. 1613 and 1614 Also Had the old retrievers, like 3700--3714
and 3800-3814 when they were used experimentally AND these old
fashioned retrievers were 'centered' below the rear windows, not
offset. Here you be, JuJuBee --
http://www.davesrailpix.com/pitts/htm/bvp046.htm There are udder
photos on the web that show this as well. Not searching them all
out at this time. These were later replaced with the Earll offset
toward the right. 1613 then had the catcher reinstalled in the mid
1950s.
.
PRCo PCC Interurban 1716 was The First to lose its retriever -- it sat
in Palm Garden for not a few months in the early 1960s before a special
mount was made to put a catcher where the retriever had been --
catchers are smaller. PRCo PCC 1721 was The Last to lose its Earll
Retriever and kept it until the very late 1960s or 1970 or so.
