Hi Ed,
This reminds me:
Milwaukee had two D-23s...a dump car on the city division and a line car on
the interurban division. Plus line car D-23 swapped numbers with line car
D-21 (long story.) One of the "D-23" line cars is still in use at East Troy.
Plus they had buses and streetcars sharing the same numbers at the same
time.
I wonder if the dual numbering ever caused them any grief?
